The title of the film

Even though the film was made fifty odd years ago it still seems to be the same style of font with the big white font really in are faces, but what is different about it is there is a man in the background walking up to the title which strange and very unusual and what makes us wander as an audience, who is he ?, what part does he to play in the film and why is he limping ?

The font style

the font sytle is very effective and somewhat unusual because when we see the film the title fills up the whole screen and the big white font is typical of what we see today.

Settings and location

From what we can see we know that the film is set in los angles we suggest that the man in the car could possibly be a very wealthy man. whilst he was in the car he was speeding which makes us wonder as the audience, why is he speeding ? what is he going ? and is he running away from someone or something? we later see that he is going to an insurance office, which we quickly understand that the insurance office is linked to the title 'Double Imndenity' ( which basically means fraud). The man is allowed in by someone who works in the there which shows that he is respected by the people in the insurance office but also makes us wonder and ask more questions is to why is he there after hours ?

Custom and Props

The first prop that is used and what catches are eye as the veiwer is the car, the car is speedinig and makes us wonder where is this person going to ? why is the person in the vehicle speeding ? and is the person running away someone ? the next prop we is the cast that is on his arm from this we instantly know that the man in the car is injuried this may explain for the erratic driving that we see during the opening scence.


How does the opening sequence realte to the film ?

The opening sequence sets up the story because we have an injuried man who is acting weridly and who has already confessed to a murder. these are things that you would generally see throughout a film this is good because this makes us as a veiwer think that more strange and exciting things are going to happen during the film
